Last night, Matt and I decided to go on a date down in Waikiki. I wanted to do some walking someplace flat, and after spending so much time in our apartment I was looking forward to the ample people-watching opportunities that Waikiki affords. So we parked at the beach park behind the Ilikai and went for a long stroll down the beach, then over to Kalakaua Avenue. It was a beautiful evening, and we enjoyed strolling hand in hand.
We watched a parade that happened to be going down Kalakaua Avenue for a bit, then stopped to browse in an art gallery and this Ferrari store.
We eventually made our way to the Moana Surfrider to enjoy a tropical drink and listen to the live Hawaiian music. It was so much fun!
On our way back to the car, we were about to cross over the sandy stretch by the new Hilton lagoon, when we were told we'd have to wait because they were about to do a fireworks display. We settled down on the beach to wait, and saw the most amazing show right over our heads! Neither of us had ever experienced anything like it! It was a wonderful date, and I feel so lucky to have such a fun and caring husband to enjoy evenings with.
