Makapu'u Beach

With just two and a half months to go until D-Day, Matt and I enjoyed a lazy afternoon at Makapu'u beach. There was some good surf, so Matt jumped in and bodysurfed the big shorebreak. I took some pictures and read on the beach. It was so relaxing! We feel so blessed to live on such a gorgeous island.

I also included a picture of us with Marlin, Sara's boyfriend Tippy's adorable new puppy. We enjoyed another Taco Thursday over at Tippy's house last Thursday.

January 2009 Pictures With Friends

We've had a really fun January, with lots of opportunities to see friends who we don't get to see very often. Here are three random pictures from our fantastic fifth month of pregnancy.

We enjoyed a Round Table pizza dinner with the Brian and Keri Lims, Jill Lim and her boys, the Hayashis, Thompson parents, and Matt's parents. Keri, Jill and I are all pregnant, so we took this picture! Keri and I are due in April, and I think Jill is due in August.

This is Matt at Mile 53 of the HURT 100 mile trail race this year. He continues to amaze me with his incredible endurance. He ran 60 miles on the steep, muddy and root-filled Tantalus trails. Matt coached these three boys on the HBA cross-country team last fall, and they came out and each ran a different 7-mile leg with him after the sun went down.

Marci and Wade came into town for a mini Thompson reunion and we've really enjoyed spending time with them. We had fun playing Partini at our house at our Taco Thursday party, then hanging out just chatting at Morning Brew on Sunday. I'd like to send Wade a special thanks for introducing Matt to "Flight of the Conchords" - he is now officially addicted. :o

6 Month Belly Picture

Matt and I headed up to the north shore this weekend to check out the big surf at Pipeline and have a little beach relaxation time. I'm terrified of getting a belly tan while pregnant, then having weird things happen when my belly goes back to normal, so I stayed covered up while in the sun. The waves were 5-7 feet Hawaiian scale (14 foot faces) and we saw a lot of great rides. We can't wait for baby boy to get here and enjoy the beach with us!

Nursery Safari

Here's a preview of our little guy's nursery. We bought a crib and changing table on craigslist, and received this adorable bedding set from Tim and Desiree for Christmas from our registry. We love the African safari theme!

Our Little Alien Baby

These are our ultrasound pictures from November, at exactly 4 months pregnant. We had been looking forward to finding out the sex of the baby for weeks. As soon as the doctor placed the wand on my belly she exclaimed "It's a boy! I'm 100% certain!" Check out the pictures to see why. :o)
